The home court playoff losing streak for the Detroit Pistons is now 16 after Jalen Brunson’s MJ-esque crossover to ice the game last night, which also means that the Knicks 26 year streak of closing out a playoff series at MSG is also still intact but they’re still in the game…”so you’re telling me there’s a chance…yea!”. Coming into today the S&P 500 is on the other side of a streak closing higher for 8 consecutive sessions. Yesterday the index closed up 0.6% breaking above its 50d ma moving average for the first time since mid-February and officially reversed all of the post Liberation Day losses. Ahead of the open it looks like that streak could extend to 9 session which would be the first time this has happened since 2004 helped by hopes for US/China negotiations and a strong jobs report which is offsetting some weakness post mega-cap tech earnings. Futures have rallied post the jobs report back currently trading up just over 1% just above yesterday’s/overnight highs.
