Market Strategy Analyst
U.S. stocks started the week on a positive tone for a third day closing at session highs. It was driven by soft U.S. labor data and Fed’s Powell dovish remarks boosting interest rate easing expectations. Most equity indices added >+1% trading mostly within a narrow range and ramping up into the close. The S&P 500 broke above its 50d as U.S. Treasury yields continued to pull back and the USD was rangebound. SLOOS showed ongoing tightness in lending standards (chart below). Australia RBA held rates unchanged and EU data posted modest improvement. U.S. Treasury yields ticking down and equity futures are flattish pointing to a muted open.

NYSE introduces the enhanced NYSE Auction tool with Opening Imbalance History
NYSE has updated its NYSE Auction Graphical Interface to include three months of open auction imbalance data, providing investors with insight into liquidity opportunities in the NYSE Open Auction.
NYSE: Short-dated equity options survey results
When Wednesday expirations were added to five ETFs1 in November 2023, short-dated trading has gained market share in all five of them. The industry has been discussing the reasons behind the short-dated trading phenomenon and debating whether additional expirations should be considered for single stocks.
