Through the NYSE Arca FIX Gateway, you can access NYSE Arca seamlessly using your existing trading system or third-party vendor. No new interfaces or accounts to open. No extra costs. FIX provides inbound order routing, execution reporting and market making capabilities. And you can ensure your FIX connectivity through NYSE Arca Cert testing.

With NYSE Arca's standard FIX interface, you'll receive all the enhanced features of NYSE Arca, including traditional and sophisticated order types, like discretionary and reserve orders, and order integrity by verifying orders based on time sensitivity.

When you route your order to NYSE Arca, you have more trading flexibility. Order integrity is maintained through the verification of orders based on time sensitivity (FIX send time/time sync message). Subscribers can choose to automatically cancel orders on disconnect.

Establishing Connectivity
NYSE Arca works closely with the connecting client to establish FIX connectivity. The test system can be accessed from multiple avenues, including Internet, leased line, ISDN and third-party networks to expedite the certification process. By exchanging and agreeing on the appropriate FIX information (FIX version, SenderCompID, TargetCompID, etc.) that will be sent (or received) by (or from) NYSE Arca, access to a feature rich test version can be enabled.

NYSE Arca Certification Testing
Certification testing is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be arranged through our FIX Connectivity Department. NYSE Arca’s certification system is fully automated and consists of specific pre-determined test scripts (via frame relay or Internet). Before a subscriber can go live, it is mandatory to complete the approved test scripts to become FIX Certified.

NYSE Arca was the first to provide a fully-automated method for customers to test their FIX connection through an interactive web browser that guides you through the certification suite. NYSE Arca certification, the automated FIX certification and testing tool, gives individuals the freedom and flexibility to check their FIX orders through one simple and efficient source.

Benefits of NYSE Arca Certification Testing

  • This automated system will allow customers the opportunity to test 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Customers need not schedule certification, nor does testing need to occur during market hours.
  • Both the application-level and session-level can be tested in a shorter period of time than if the customer were to test manually.
  • Validations are performed automatically, without heavily relying on manual confirmations.
  • The number of scenarios that are tested, combined with the conditions that are checked within each script, dramatically increases the reliability of FIX communication and reduces problems in production.
  • The tests can be used to certify against both NYSE Arca, ArcaEdge (NYSE Arca’s OTCBB platform) and other Bulletin Board platforms.

FIX Functionality
NYSE Arca certification supports all of the functionality of the Exchange, including all of the new order types (e.g. PNP+ and Pegged) and other changes as described in the updated FIX API (pdf). All new customers of NYSE Arca must certify using NYSE Arca certification before becoming a live production customer of the Exchange.

NYSE Arca FIX Drop Copies
FIX reporting of executions can be accomplished through one FIX session. The AFG can facilitate the transfer of order execution detail for RealTick® or FIX order-entry users via a FIX computer-to-computer interface. NYSE Arca has the ability to send drop copies to a variety of destinations.
