Data Fabric TCP Middleware APIs

TCP Middleware

TCP Middleware is the ‘go anywhere’ transport. Simple and efficient, it was designed with the limitations of legacy networks and wide area connections in mind, where firewalls and outdated switches make the use of multicast impractical.

And yet this middleware has a few tricks up its sleeve, like per connection conflation, selective subscriptions, and the same ultra high performance NYSE Technologies is known for. TCP Middleware is ideal for situations such as trading room distribution, WAN connections and point to point messaging.

As with all our middlewares, applications interface with TCP Middleware using MAMA, for ultimate portability.

Benefits
TCP middleware is designed to go wherever you need- across the trading floor, over WAN connections, to DMA customers and beyond. Firewalls and legacy switches won’t slow you down, nor will the complexities of more sophisticated protocols like multicast.

Like all our middlewares, TCP middleware utilizes MAMA, making transition to or from this middleware and other NYSE Technologies supported middlewares a painless task for application developers.

Features
TCP Middleware offers these key features which make this middleware ideally suited for trading floors, WAN solutions and other areas where multicast or InfiniBand may be impractical, yet where the TCP protocol excels:

  • TCP/IP based
  • Lightweight and efficient (CPU and bandwidth)
  • Capable of traversing tricky topologies (firewalls, legacy switches…)
  • Per connection capable – Selective subscription based
