and First Day of Trading on the New York Stock Exchange
First Indian Company to List on NYSE Euronext Markets in 2012
NEW YORK, October 10, 2012 –Amira Nature Foods Ltd., a leading global provider of packaged Indian specialty rice with sales in over 40 countries, opened for trading today on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol “ANFI” after its initial public offering. Goldman, Sachs & Co. is the Designated Market Maker for the company’s stock.
Chairman and CEO Karan A. Chanana, joined by members of Amira Nature Foods’ leadership team, marked the company’s first day of trading by ringing The Opening BellSM and visiting the NYSE trading floor for the stock opening.
Amira Nature Foods is the first Indian company to list its IPO on NYSE Euronext markets this year and the 12th Indian company to list on NYSE Euronext markets following the listings of Genpact Limited (NYSE: G) in August 2007 and Sterlite Industries India Limited (NYSE: SLT) in June 2007.
