Lisbon, 27th February 2012 – NYSE Euronext (NYX) Lisbon today listed five certificates issued by MiIllenium bcp, one of the largest private banks in Portugal. As well as issuing certificates in gold, wheat and WIG20; two new certificates assets have been introduced with the listing of copper and silver.The certificates in silver have silver bar as their underlying, while the certificates in copper are structured and have futures on copper (COMEX) as the underlying asset.
Miguel Geraldes, Head of Cash Market & Listing and Head of Relationship Management Iberia, said: “The listing of these new commodities certificates at NYSE Euronext Lisbon enhances our portfolio offering to our customers in Portugal, by allowing investors to access securities which offer wider diversified strategies for their investments”.
Luís Feria, head of Markets at Millennium bcp stated: “Today, Millennium bcp listed five new certificates on NYSE Euronext. Continuing its innovative programme, it is now possible to invest in open end certificates on gold, wheat and WIG20 (a Polish index). Furthermore, it is also possible to invest in two new underlying assets, silver and copper. Millennium bcp is the only Portuguese issuer of these instruments and is committed to continue to give its investors the best market alternatives”.
NYSE Euronext currently lists 11 commodity certificates in Portugal - including gold, oil, cocoa, coffee, corn, gold, natural gas, silver, sugar and wheat. In addition to today’s certificates listed by Millennium bcp, they also list existing certificates on wheat, gold and Brent oil.
