Based on information received from members and member organizations, short interest increased to 15,597,176,963 shares from 15,348,185,008 (revised) shares on June 15, 2009. This was an increase of 248,991,955 shares.
The short interest on June 30 was equal to 4.08 percent of the total shares outstanding.
The short interest in warrants as of June 30 amounted to 67,379 warrants, compared to 74,047 warrants the previous period.
