Based on information received from members and member organizations, short interest increased to 16,178,395,665 shares from 14,608,255,028 (revised) shares on February 27, 2009. This was an increase of 1,570,140,637 shares.
The short interest on March 13 was equal to 4.23 percent of the total shares outstanding.
The short interest in warrants as of March 13 amounted to 324,668 warrants, compared to 88,395 warrants the previous period.
