NYSE Euronext Bridges Trans-Atlantic Pro Golf Circuits with Sponsorships of European Tour’s Lee Westwood and PGA’s Chris DiMarco and Steve Stricker
New York and Paris, Feb. 22, 2008 – NYSE Euronext (NYX), operator of the world’s leading financial market group with six cash equities exchanges and six derivatives exchanges throughout Europe and the United States, today announced sponsorship agreements with the Americans Steve Stricker and Chris DiMarco and the United Kingdom’s Lee Westwood for the 2008 and 2009 PGA and European golf tours.

“We are proud to associate the NYSE Euronext brand with Chris DiMarco, Steve Stricker, Lee Westwood, each of whom are outstanding professionals and familiar names worldwide,” said NYSE Euronext CEO Duncan L. Niederauer.  “With Chris, Steve and Lee as part of the NYSE Euronext team, we are bridging the professional golf tours in American and Europe , our core centers of our business operations.  We wish each of them well and look forward to following their success on the PGA and European tours.”  

While the NYSE had previously sponsored Messrs. DiMarco and Stricker, this year marks NYSE Euronext’s first association with Mr. Westwood.  Each golfer offered the following comments on their partnership with NYSE Euronext.

I look forward to representing the Company around the world as I pursue my goals on the course."

Said the U.K. ’s Lee Westwood, who currently ranks first in Ryder Cup European points list: “Golf has such great European and U.S. ties and is truly global in reach, as is the business of NYSE Euronext.   It’s great to be part of a new transatlantic company and I look forward to working with them.”
