John W. Schmidlin Joins NYSE Regulation Board of Directors
NEW YORK, August 2, 2007—NYSE Regulation, Inc. today announced that John W. Schmidlin has been appointed a public member of the NYSE Regulation board of directors. 

“John W. Schmidlin has served at the center of financial markets and as a nonprofit board member, where he gained a breadth of experience and valuable insight.  We are lucky to have him join us as the newest member of the board of directors of NYSE Regulation,” said Richard G. Ketchum, chief executive officer, NYSE Regulation.  

Schmidlin is former chief information officer of JP Morgan Chase, chairman of the firm’s Technology Council, and member of its Executive Committee.  Prior to his position as chief information officer, Schmidlin served as head of the firm’s enterprise technology services, and as head of global technology and operations.  He joined the firm’s management training program in 1969 and retired from the firm in 2004.

Schmidlin holds a B.S. from St. John’s University and attended the Cornell Executive Development Program.  He is chairman of the board of trustees of the Harlem Academy.
