NYSE Welcomes H.E. Néstor Carlos Kirchner, President of Argentina
NEW YORK , Sept. 20, 2006 – The New York Stock Exchange today opened its doors to the Argentinian delegation of government officials led by H.E. Néstor Carlos Kirchner, President of Argentina and Senator Cristina Fernandez Kirchner.

“We are privileged to host President of Argentina, H.E. Néstor Carlos Kirchner and his delegation to the New York Stock Exchange,” said NYSE Group, Inc. CEO John Thain.  We thank President Kirchner for visiting the New York Stock Exchange and we look forward to adding the next Argentinian company to our family of listed companies.”

The NYSE is home to 11 companies from Argentina plus two that are incorporated in Luxembourg but have management and operations in Argentina . The total global market capitalization for the Argentine companies listed on the NYSE is $57.1 bn (August 31, 2006 ), accounting for approximately 12% of the Latin American total.

In 2006, the NYSE listed two companies from Argentina : Ternium S.A. [NYSE:  TX ] on Feb 1, 2006 and Banco Macro S.A.[NYSE:  BMA ] on March 24, 2006 . The NYSE is home to 452 non-U.S. companies representing 47countries, which are global and regional leaders in their respective industries.
