NYSE Sets Records For Daily Share Volume, Crossing Session II Volume

NEW YORK, June 27, 2005 – On Friday, June 24, daily volume at the New York Stock Exchange reached an all time high of 3,115,805,723 shares, surpassing the previous record of 2,812,918,977 shares set on July 24, 2002.
The NYSE’s Crossing Session II also reached a new record volume of 855,450,906 shares, surpassing the previous Crossing Session II record of 620,757,715 shares set on June 25, 2004.
Additionally, Friday’s value of trading of $91.9 billion was the second highest ever, after the record of $102.3 billion reached on March 18, 2005.
