NYSE Sets New Record First-Hour Trading Volume

NEW YORK, June 17, 2005 --Today's first hour volume reached an all time high on the NYSE totaling 704,370,000 shares, surpassing the previous record first-hour volume set on Sept. 21, 2001, of 660,530,000 shares.
