NEW YORK, Jan. 27, 2005 – The streetTRACKS® Gold Trust achieved a net asset value of more than $2 billion on Monday, Jan. 24. The Trust listed the streetTRACKS Gold Shares (NYSE: GLD) on the Exchange on Nov. 18, 2004. As of Jan. 27, the 152.03 tons of gold held in the Trust was valued at $2,074,183,791.
Each Gold Share provides investors with access to the gold bullion market through a tradable security that represents a fractional, undivided beneficial ownership in the Trust. The streetTRACKS Gold Trust is designed to reduce barriers to investing in gold and is comprised entirely of allocated gold bullion and, from time to time, cash.
