| Cimarex Energy Co. is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company. The Company's operations are mainly located in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Louisiana and Wyoming. Proved oil and gas reserves as of December 31, 2007, totaled nearly 1.5 trillion cubic feet equivalent (Tcfe), consisting of 1.1 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of gas and 58.3 million barrels of oil and natural gas liquids. Of total proved reserves, 76% are gas and 79% are classified as proved developed. The Company operates the wells that account for 82% of its total proved reserves and approximately 79% of production. The Company's operations are focused in the Mid-Continent region, which consists of Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle and southwest Kansas; the Permian Basin region of west Texas and southeast New Mexico, and the Gulf Coast areas of Texas, south Louisiana, and offshore Louisiana.
