| Waste Connections, Inc. (WCI) is an integrated solid waste services company. WCI provides solid waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services in the Western and Southern United States. As of December 31, 2010, it served approximately two million residential, commercial and industrial customers from a network of operations in 27 states, which includes Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. As of December 31, 2010, it owned or operated a network of 135 solid waste collection operations, 54 transfer stations, seven intermodal facilities, 39 recycling operations, 44 active landfills, and one exploration and production waste treatment and disposal facility. |
