(WCI) is an integrated solid waste services company that provides solid waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services in secondary markets in the Western and Southern United States. The Company serves approximately 1.5 million residential, commercial and industrial customers from operations in 23 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. As of December 31, 2007, the Company owned or operated a network of 126 solid waste collection operations, 48 transfer stations, 29 recycling operations and 35 active landfills. In November 2008, it completed the acquisition of Harold LeMay Enterprises, Incorporated. In November 2008, WCI announced the acquisition of two companies: Yakima Waste Systems, Inc., the residential collection assets of Trashco Services, Inc. |
