In March 2008, Verizon announced the completion of the spin-off of Northern New England Spinco Inc. In July 2008, MTN Group Limited acquired 100% of Verizon South Africa Ltd. In August 2008, Verizon announced that Verizon Wireless, a joint venture of the Company and Vodafone Group Plc, had completed its purchase of Rural Cellular Corporation. |
