| Companhia de Saneamento Basico do Estado de Sao Paulo-SABESP (SABESP) is a Brazil-based company which provides basic and environmental sanitation services. The Company is engaged in the supply and treatment of water and collection, transportation, treatment and disposal of sewage. The Company provides water and sewage services in 364 municipalities in the state of Sao Paulo. In addition to water and sewage services in the state of Sao Paulo, Sabesp is allowed to operate outside the state of Sao Paulo and abroad, as well as to establish subsidiaries. The Company focuses on providing services, such as urban rainwater and drainage management, urban cleaning and solid waste management, as well as generation, storage and conservation of power. The Company's majority shareholder is Secretaria da Fazenda (State Finance Department), with 50.3% of its interests in the Company. |
