| Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. (Royal Philips Electronics) is the parent company of the Philips Group (Philips). Philips' activities are organized as four divisions: Domestic Appliances and Personal Care (DAP), Consumer Electronics (CE), Lighting, Innovation and Emerging Businesses, and Group Management and Services. As of December 31, 2007, Philips had approximately 100 production sites in 29 countries, and sales and service outlets in approximately 150 countries. As of March 14, 2008, the Company had acquired over 94% interest in Respironics, Inc. In September 2008, Medialink Worldwide Inc. announced the transfer of its ownership interest in Teletrax to Royal Philips Electronics. Pursuant to the transfer, Royal Philips Electronics owns 100% of the Teletrax entities. In October 2008, Koninklijke Philips Electronics sold its speech recognition activities, Philips Speech Recognition Systems, to United States-based Nuance Communications, Inc. |
