| Pebblebrook Hotel Trust is an internally managed hotel investment company. The Company operates as a real estate investment trust (REIT). Pebblebrook Hotel Trust is organized to acquire and invest in hotel properties located primarily in United States cities, with an emphasis on the coastal markets. As of December 31, 2011, it owned interests in 20 hotels, including 14 wholly owned hotels, with a total of 3,812 guest rooms and a 49% joint venture interest in six hotels with 1,733 guest rooms. The hotels are located in Atlanta (Buckhead), Georgia; Bethesda, Maryland; Boston, Massachusetts; Miami, Florida; Minneapolis, Minnesota; San Diego, California; San Francisco, California; Santa Monica, California; Seattle, Washington; Stevenson, Washington; Washington, D.C. and West Hollywood California. In October 2012, the Company acquired the Hotel Palomar San Francisco. In January 2013, it acquired the Embassy Suites San Diego Bay. |
