The services it provides include trading, underwriting, and offering securities, asset management services, and others. As of March 31, 2008, it operated offices in about 30 countries and regions, including Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Hong Kong through its subsidiaries. The Company's customers include individuals, corporations, financial institutions, governments and governmental agencies. Nomura operates in five business divisions: domestic retail, global markets, global investment banking, global merchant banking and asset management. In February, 2007, Nomura acquired Instinet Incorporated. Effective October 1, 2008, Nomura Holdings Inc. acquired Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.'s European equities and investment-banking business, and decided not to take on the fixed-income unit. |
