| Winthrop Realty Trust (the Trust) is a real estate investment trust (REIT). The Trust conducts its business through its wholly owned operating partnership, WRT Realty L.P. The Trust is engaged in the business of owning real property and real estate related assets. It operates in three segments: the ownership of investment properties, including properties in joint ventures consolidated or accounted for on a equity method basis, which are its operating properties; the origination and acquisition of senior loans, mezzanine loans and debt securities secured directly or indirectly by commercial and multi-family real property, which are its loan assets, and the ownership of equity and debt securities in other REITs, which are its REIT securities. On December 22, 2010, it acquired an 118,000 square foot, class A office building located at 9800 Mount Pyramid Court, Englewood, Colorado, which is Crossroads I at Meridian. |
