The Company operates the business and markets the services under the AMR and EmCare brands, which represent American Medical Response, Inc. and EmCare Holdings Inc. EMSC provides ambulance transport services in 38 states and the District of Columbia and provides facility-based physician services in 39 states and the District of Columbia. During the year ended December 31, 2009, the Company provided services in approximately 13 million patient encounters in more than 2,200 communities. EMSC operates the business and market the services under two business segments: AMR and EmCare. |
