The Company operates its business and markets its services under the AMR and EmCare brands, which represent American Medical Response, Inc. and EmCare Holdings Inc., respectively. AMR is a provider of ambulance services in the United States. EmCare is a provider of outsourced emergency department staffing and related management services in the United States. During the year ended December 31, 2008, EMSC provided emergency medical services to approximately 11.4 million patients in more than 2,100 communities nationwide. The Company offers a range of emergency medical services through its two business segments: AMR and EmCare. In April 2008, the Company acquired Aldan Emergency Physicians, P.A. In August 2008, the Company acquired the management services entity of Clinical Partners, P.A. On October 20, 2008, the Company acquired Templeton Readings, LLC. |
