| EastGroup Properties, Inc. (EastGroup) is an equity real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company is engaged in the development, acquisition and operation of industrial properties in Sunbelt markets throughout the United States, including the states of Florida, Texas, Arizona and California. During the year ended December 31, 2007, EastGroup purchased seven operating properties comprising (1,079,000 square feet in 15 buildings), one property for redevelopment (68,000 square feet) and 102 acres of developable land. In 2007, the Company owned 202 industrial properties and one office building. |
