| Del Monte Foods Company is a producer, distributor and marketer of branded food and pet products for the United States retail market. The Company's principal food brands include Del Monte, StarKist, S&W, Contadina, College Inn and other brand names, and its pet food and pet snacks brands include Meow Mix, Kibbles 'n Bits, 9Lives, Milk-Bone, Pup-Peroni, Meaty Bone, Snausages, Pounce and other brand names. Del Monte also produces private label food and pet products. Its products are sold nationwide, in all channels serving retail markets, as well as to the United States military, certain export markets, the foodservice industry and other food processors. During the fiscal year ended April 27, 2008, its principal facilities consisted of 17 production facilities and nine distribution centers in the United States. In October 2008, Del Monte Corporation, the Company's wholly owned subsidiary, completed the sale of its seafood business, including StarKist, to Dongwon Industries Co., Ltd. |
