Company Description
Corus Entertainment Inc. (Corus) is a Canada-based media and entertainment company with interests in radio broadcasting, television broadcasting, and the production and distribution of children's media content. Corus' principal assets consist of 53 radio stations (Corus' radio group or Corus Radio); a variety of specialty television networks focused on children and adult genres; western Canada's premium television services; Nelvana Limited, an international producer and distributor of children's programming and merchandise products; Kids Can Press, an English language publisher of children's books; three broadcast television stations; a cable advertising service, and a digital audio service. During the fiscal year ended August 31, 2008 (fiscal 2008), the Company operated through three groups: Radio, Television and Content. Subsequent to August 31, 2008, the Content group was integrated with the Television group. On September 1, 2008, Corus acquired Canadian Learning Television.
