| BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc. (BJ's) is a warehouse club operator in the eastern United States. As of February 2, 2008, the Company operated 177 warehouse clubs in 16 states, 100 of which operated gasoline stations. BJ's revenues are derived from the sale of a range of food and general merchandise items, the sale of gasoline and from membership fees. During the fiscal year ended February 2, 2008 (fiscal 2007), food accounted for approximately 61% of BJ's total food and general merchandise sales. The remaining 39% consisted of a variety of general merchandise items. Food categories at BJ's include frozen foods, fresh meat and dairy products, beverages, dry grocery items, fresh produce and flowers, canned goods and household paper products. General merchandise includes consumer electronics, pre-recorded media, small appliances, tires, jewelry, health and beauty aids, household needs, computer software, books, greeting cards, apparel, furniture, toys and seasonal items. |
