Officials from the New York City – Southern New York Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, along with the Goldman Sachs Bike MS team and the Nizer’s Riders Bike MS team visit the New York Stock Exchange on Friday, July 6 and ring The Closing BellSM.|

Members of the Goldman Sachs’ Bike MS team raised $153,090 for the 2011 event and members of Nizer’s Riders raised $55,600 in 2011. Goldman Sachs was the number one fundraising team in 2011 and is set to reach a cumulative fundraising total of $1 million in 2012 since the first year of their participation in 2002. Nizer’s Riders is a friends and family team that has raised a cumulative total of $128,106 in just 3 years of participating.
The funds raised through Bike MS New York City support the Society’s critical research initiatives and provide hundreds of comprehensive support services and programs for people living with MS, their friends and families.

The New York City - Southern New York Chapter of the National MS Society will host Bike MS New York City on Sunday, October 21, 2012. Bike MS is one of the largest one-day charity bike events in the country and has become a preeminent cycling event in Manhattan. Bike MS NYC participants will enjoy the exhilarating, exclusive experience of circling Manhattan with 30 miles of traffic-free roads via the Franklin D. Roosevelt Drive, Harlem River Drive and the West Side Highway. A premiere feature for cyclists continuing on to the challenging 50 and 100 mile extended routes is exiting Manhattan via the Holland Tunnel traffic-free.
Bike MS NYC 2012 is expected to raise $2.65 million.
