Per Scholas
Per Scholas is an environmentally-responsible nonprofit organization committed to breaking the cycle of poverty by providing education, technology and economic opportunities to low-income communities. To date, Per Scholas has distributed over 75,000 low-cost or no-cost computers to underserved children and individuals, provided over 30,000 hours of customer service support, and trained 2,500 low-income adults to obtain living-wage jobs in the technology field. Operating out of facilities in the South Bronx and Miami, Per Scholas also recycles computer equipment, the best of which is reconditioned and distributed to low-income families. As Per Scholas celebrates its 15th year of helping bridge the digital divide, it is looking to replicate its successful programs in other underserved communities around the nation.
