From December 7th to 18th of this year, Denmark is hosting the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP15). Being a host country for what is possibly the biggest UN conference ever held outside New York and Geneva is a big task. Planning for such a big conference involves representatives of multiple government agencies, academia, NGOs, businesses and many others. In Denmark, this has already resulted in a very high level of activity focusing on COP15 and climate change issues.
Hosting the UN Climate Change Conference 2009 is a unique chance for the Danish government to invite some of the world's most renowned climate thinkers to participate in a global climate debate. Denmark has invited thinkers from all over the world - a group including scientists, NGO-representatives, politicians, high level civil servants, businesspeople and many others. On the Climate Thinkers Blog available on the COP15 website, you will be able to read posts from thinkers representing a wide range of subjects, backgrounds, interests, and angles, but all related to climate change.
