Macy's (NYSE-Listed M) visits the NYSE to kick-off the 33rd Annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks® Spectacular, celebrating America's birthday and, this year, the 400th Anniversary of Henry Hudson’s Voyage. In honor of the occasion, Martine Reardon, Executive Vice President, Macy's, Inc., rings The Closing Bell®.

About Macy's 4th of July Fireworks
The fireworks display, the largest in the nation, is returning to New York City’s Hudson River for the first  time since  2000 will as part of the 33rd Annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks.  On Sat. July 4, the fireworks begin at approximately 9:20 pm (ET), featuring more than 40,000 shells exploding in a
choreographed dance that will accompanied by music specifically composed for this event called “American River Suite,” with the title song “Half Moon” named after the Dutch ship on which Henry Hudson and his crew first sailed up what is now the Hudson River, leading up to the establishment of New Amsterdam which later became New York City.

Macy's 4th of July Fireworks are the nation’s largest 4th of July pyrotechnic display. Produced by Macy’s and designed in conjunction with SOUSA Fireworks of Rialto, CA, Macy’s Fireworks are a 30-minute digitally synchronized display of firepower that is choreographed to a rousing patriotic score. Yearly fired from various locations across New York City, Macy’s Fireworks feature shells from all over the world. Seen by more than 2 million spectators and more than 8 million viewers nationwide, Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks have become the nation’s premiere 4th of July celebration event.

Spectators can tune into Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular broadcast nationally on NBC-TV. The telecast hosted from the flight deck of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum begins at 9:00pm (ET).

NY 400 Celebrations
The U.S. and the Netherlands have been two countries with one spirit, united by values, history and a vision for the future. This September will be the highlight of this year's NY 400 celebrations, coinciding with the exact time Hudson sailed up the American river that now bears his name. During the week of September 8-13, New York City and its surroundings will celebrate the city's roots and 400 years of enduring friendship between the Netherlands and the U.S. That week will be full of festivals, flotilla's and special exhibits on and around the Hudson River, Governor's Island and the historic New Amsterdam district which is Downtown Manhattan.  (Source: NY 400)
