Super de Boer is one of the leading large-scale distribution groups in the Netherlands with over 300 hypermarkets and supermarkets. Per 1 January 2008 the company changed its name from Laurus into Super de Boer N.V.
The company's format was created in 1998 as a result of the merger of Dutch national wholesaler Unigro Nederland N.V. with the regional supermarket chain De Boer Winkelbedrijven N.V. Both companies were established in 1925. At present Super de Boer has around 20.000 employees.
