NYSE Hosts Portuguse Equities Forum. In honor of the occasion, executives of leading listed Portuguese companies ring The Opening BellSM, joined by Mr. Miguel Athayde Marques, Chairman and CEO of the NYSE Euronext Lisbon market.
“It’s my pleasure to welcome the participating listed companies from Portugal to the New York Stock Exchange,” said Mr. Marques. “In addition to making presentations to U.S. and global investors, this is an excellent opportunity for relationship building and bring a better awareness of European companies listed on NYSE Euronext to the U.S. ,” said Mr Marques.
Portuguese Equities Forum
The event, sponsored by NYSE Euronext and Millennium investment banking, will provide leading Portuguese companies an opportunity to address the investor community in the United States directly, and is the first Portugal-focused corporate event at the NYSE since the merger between the former NYSE Group and Euronext. The event will offer the U.S. investor community the ability to interact with CEOs and CFOs of Portugal’s leading quoted companies, and learn more about opportunities provided through NYSE Euronext, Portuguese market.
 NYSE Euronext markets are home to 55 listed issuers from Portugal with a total global market capitalization of approximately 158 billion euros (233.3 billion dollars) (as of Aug. 31, 2008).
