His Excellency, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Prime Minister of Denmark, visits the NYSE.
Prime Minister Rasmussen met with NYSE Euronext CEO Duncan Niederauer and ended the day’s trading by ringing the NYSE Closing Bell®.
"It’s been my pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Rasmussen," said Mr. Niederauer. "We discussed current market conditions and how we can work together in the future. I look forward to strengthening our relationship with Denmark and its capital markets."
"We had a fruitful discussion on the markets as well as on the economy as a whole," said Prime Minister Rasmussen. "I’ve very much enjoyed my visit here today."
In New York, Prime Minister Rasmussen met with world leaders, including the UN Secretary-General, and the Climate Change COP-Troika to discuss the perspectives for a strengthened international deal on climate change to be concluded at the UN Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen in December 2009.

Anders Fogh Rasmussen has been Prime Minister of Denmark since 2001. Previously, between 1990-1992, he served as Denmark ’s Minister for Economic Affairs. Prior to that, from 1987, he was Denmark’s Minister for Taxation. He is married and the father of three children.
In New York, the Prime Minister will meet with world leaders including the UN Secretary-General and the Climate Change COP-Troika to discuss the perspectives for a strengthened international deal on climate change to be concluded at the UN Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen in December 2009. During his New York visit, H.E. Anders Fogh Rasmussen will also speak at the World Leaders' Forum at Colombia University and participate in the UN High-Level Meeting on the Millennium Development Goals, where Denmark has taken the lead in promoting MDG3: Empowerment of women.
