Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) visits the NYSE to celebrate its 75th Anniversary. In honor of the occasion, Chairman Sheila C. Bair rings The Opening BellSM.
FDIC Chairman Sheila C. Bair addresses community and business leaders on consumer protection and financial education.
In her remarks, the Chairman will discuss the importance of deposit insurance, bank services and products that build wealth, financial education, and how banks can expand access to their services among low- and moderate-income communities and other traditionally underserved populations.
Following the Chairman’s remarks, she will lead a panel discussion with local business and community leaders about deposit insurance, banking services currently available to consumers, and the consumer protections resulting from federal regulation of the banking industry. The event in New York is the fourth stop on the FDIC’s Face Your Finances Road Show and is part of an ongoing public education campaign that coincides with the FDIC’s 75th Anniversary.
