(Western Refining) is an independent crude oil refiner and marketer of refined products and also operates service stations and convenience stores. The Company owns and operates four refineries with a total crude oil throughput capacity of approximately 234,000 barrels per day (bpd). As of February 22, 2008, Western Refining owns and operates 155 retail service stations and convenience stores in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico, a fleet of crude oil and finished product truck transports, and a wholesale petroleum products distributor, such as Western Refining Wholesale, Inc., which operates in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah. Western Refining operates in three business segments: the refining group, the wholesale group and the retail group. On May 31, 2007, the Company completed its acquisition of Giant Industries, Inc.
