The Company's business operations are divided into segments, which include Transmission-UK, Transmission-US, Gas Distribution-UK, Gas Distribution-US, US Electricity Distribution and US stranded cost recoveries. Its remaining businesses are classified as other operations. On April 3, 2007, it sold its UK wireless infrastructure operations to Macquarie UK Broadcast Ventures Limited. On August 24, 2006, it completed the acquisition from Southern Union Company of its Rhode Island gas distribution network. On October 27, 2006, it sold a 38.5% interest in Copperbelt Energy Corporation in Zambia. In August 2007, it acquired KeySpan Corporation.
