During the year ended December 31, 2007, the Company had a generation capacity totaling approximately 43,000 Megawatts. The segments of the Company are Latin America Generation, Latin America Utilities, North America Generation, North America Utilities, Europe & Africa Generation, Europe & Africa Utilities and Asia Generation. AES operates two types of businesses, which includes Generation and Utilities. In May 2007, AES completed the sale of La Electricidad de Caracas (EDC). In 2007, the Company had more than 7,454 megawatt of hydropower in operation or under development in nine countries.
