Sun Communities Inc. is a self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company owns, operates, develops and finances manufactured housing communities concentrated in the midwestern and southeastern United States. During the year ended December 31, 2006, the Company owned and operated a portfolio of 136 properties located in 18 states (the Properties), including 124 manufactured housing communities, four recreational vehicle communities, and eight properties containing both manufactured housing and recreational vehicle sites. As of December 31, 2006, the Properties contained an aggregate of 47,606 developed sites comprising 42,247 developed manufactured home sites and 5,359 recreational vehicle sites and an additional 6,813 manufactured home sites suitable for development. During 2006, the Company acquired a manufactured home community located in Oakland County, Michigan with occupancy of approximately 95%.
