New York Cares
During the month of December, volunteers in the New York Cares Coat Drive collected gently-used coats for donation to financially struggling men, women and families. After the collection period ended, NYSE employee volunteers assisted with the sorting and distribution of the coats to the City's needy. Citywide, New York Cares collected 70,000 coats during the December drive.
New York Cares brings vital volunteer support to over 850 diverse nonprofit agencies, public schools and other deserving organizations throughout the five boroughs. Program staff work with each organization to identify their most pressing needs, create projects where volunteers can make meaningful contributions, and then recruit and deploy teams of volunteers to help meet their needs. The Coat Drive, now in its 19th year, is a signature program of New York Cares.
