MIT’s $100K Entrepreneurship Competition
The MIT $100K encourages any MIT student with a business strategy for a marketable product or service to enter the competition.   MIT's competition is the nation's premier business plan competition, teaching students how to turn their ideas into companies.

The MIT $100K judges and its team of mentors have a joint goal to help MIT students learn about entrepreneurship and start successful companies. More than 20 entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and other professionals involved in entrepreneurship evaluate the contestants. Plans are compared on their market potential and the team's ability to successfully execute their business plan.

Ideas in the $100K competition represent the entire spectrum of innovation from across the MIT community. In 2006, ideas included a flying car, an MIT $100 laptop bundled with microfinance software, a device to transport vaccines to marginalized communities, and a green production process to make low-cost titanium. The MIT $100K business plan competition remains an economic barometer on what new ideas are being funded by venture capitalists. Since its launch in 1989, more than 85 companies have been formed from teams that have competed.
