Autism Speaks and the autism community celebrate Autism Awareness Month at the NYSE. In honor of the occasion, Bob Wright, co-Founder of Autism Speaks, Chairman of NBC Universal and Vice Chairman of General Electric Company (NYSE-Listed GE) rings The Closing BellSM.

Autism Speaks
Autism Speaks is dedicated to increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders, to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and cure for autism, and to advocating for the needs of affected families. It was founded in February 2005 by Suzanne and Bob Wright, the grandparents of a child with autism. Autism Speaks has merged with both the National Alliance for Autism Research (NAAR) and Cure Autism Now (CAN), bringing together the nation’s three leading autism advocacy organizations.

In December 2006, Energy Metals Corporation's subsidiary, Golden Predator Mines Inc., acquired Springer Mining Company from GE. On March 15, 2007, GeoEye Inc. acquired M.J. Harden Associates, Inc., from GE.
