ConAgra Foods, Inc. is a packaged food company whose operations are classified into three segments: Packaged Foods, Food Ingredients, Agricultural Products. The Packaged Foods segment includes shelf-stable, frozen and refrigerated consumer products, which are processed and packaged for sales to retail, deli and foodservice customers. The Food Ingredients includes specialty ingredients, milled ingredients and basic ingredients businesses. Through its Agricultural Products segment, ConAgra Foods distributes crop protection chemicals, fertilizers and seeds at wholesale and retail levels. During the fiscal year ended May 25, 2003, the Company divested a controlling interest in its fresh beef and pork business, its canned seafood operations and significant cheese operations, and committed to a plan to sell its chicken operations. In November 2003, the Company sold United Agri Products (UAP), its U.S. and Canadian crop inputs business, to Apollo Management, L.P.
