The Stride Rite Corporation (Stride Rite) is a designer and marketer of children's footwear in the United States. The Company is also a designer and marketer of athletic and casual footwear for children and adults. The business was founded on the strength of the Stride Rite children's brand, but, as of fiscal year ended December 03, 2004 (fiscal 2004), it included a portfolio of several American brands addressing different market segments within the footwear industry. In addition to the Stride Rite brand, the Company designs and markets footwear under several owned or licensed brands: Keds, PRO-Keds, Grasshoppers, Sperry Top-Sider, Sperry, Munchkin, Tommy Hilfiger, Baby Smart and Børn. The Company markets its products in countries outside the United States and Canada through independent distributors and licensees, and also through its Stride Rite children's shoe stores, Stride Rite Family Footwear, Stride Rite, Keds, Sperry outlet.
