| Vitro, S.A.B. de C.V (Vitro), incorporated on August 27, 1936, is a holding company that conducts substantially all of its operations through its subsidiaries. The Company's operations are organized into two operating business units: the Glass Containers business unit (representing approximately 51% of the Company's consolidated net sales during the year ended December 31, 2006) and the Flat Glass business unit representing approximately 48% of the Company's consolidated net sales during the year ended December 31, 2006). In April 2006, the Company's subsidiary Empresas Comegua, S.A. (Comegua) acquired Vidrios Panamenos, S.A. On March 2, 2006, the Company sold 51% interest in Quimica M, S.A. de C.V. In July 2007, the Company's subsidiary, Vimexico S.A. de C.V., concluded the transaction via which it purchased 100% stake in Vitro AFG, S.A. de C.V. |
