| Rockwood Holdings, Inc. (Rockwood) is a developer, manufacturer and marketer of specialty chemicals and advanced materials used for industrial and commercial purposes. Rockwood's products consist of inorganic chemicals and solutions and engineered materials. The Company operates manufacturing its products in 81 facilities in 23 countries and selling its products and providing its services to more than 60,000 customers. Rockwood operates its business through four business segments: Specialty Chemicals, Performance Additives, Titanium Dioxide Pigments and Advanced Ceramics. On January 7, 2011, the Company completed the sale of its plastic compounding business, which manufactured specialty plastic compounds for the wire and cable business, as well as medical applications and other uses. Effective January 7, 2011, the Company completed the sale of the AlphaGary plastic compounding business to MEXICHEM S.A.B de C.V. |
