Directly and through affiliates and joint ventures, the Company has investments in the energy and steel businesses. The Company's principal nickel mines and processing operations are carried out by its subsidiary Vale Inco Limited (Vale Inco), with mining operations in Canada and Indonesia. Vale operates or have interests in nickel refining facilities in the United Kingdom, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and China. In April 2007, Vale acquired 100% of AMCI Holdings Australia Pty and formally renamed it Vale Australia Holdings (Vale Australia). |
