| Qiao Xing Mobile Communication Co., Ltd. is a domestic manufacturer of mobile handsets in China. The Company manufactures and sells mobile handsets based primarily on global system for mobile communications (GSM) global cellular technologies. As of December 31, 2008, the Company was in the process of developing third generation (3G) mobile handsets based on the wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) and time division synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) technologies. The Company operates its business primarily through CEC Telecom Co., Ltd. (CECT), its 96.6%-owned subsidiary in China. Its products have been primarily sold under the CECT brand name and it launched the VEVA brand in May 2008. The Company develops, produces and markets a range of mobile handsets, with focus on differentiated products. On March 5, 2009, it incorporated Beijing VEVA Technology Co., Ltd. (BVT) in Beijing, China to engage in the sales of mobile phones and accessories. |
